I Am on the train
Headed for San Francisco
From the suburbs
Takes 45 minutes
I'm on the second, or third car
It is all but empty
Three people to the far end
And as we get closer,
The more stops we take
The more the people
Will fill the car seats-
I am all dressed up
With nail polish and all
With lipstick, with eyeliner
A Black dress over a slip,
Black stokings
I'm wearing my best shoes
And Iv'e bought new glasses
Wearing a light suit coat
Brought my suitcase,
A bag,
My computer,
And jornal books, with books to read as well
Headed for San Francisco
On a train
From the suburbs
To visit a certain somebody
For 45 min I sit
And watch people get on,
Hear it get louder
Wait for my stop
You can imagine
All the people
The different people
Going in and out
I sit in the last seat
And see all
What ever seat is mine
Empty from my departure
5 stops ago
It get's so congested now
No one can get through the door
On my way to San Francisco
From the suburbs
A 45 minute Bart ride
South under the bay
Where everyone inbetween lurks
Through the doorways
Of a train car
